Village locals stunned to discover gifts dotted around from mystery 'Secret Santa'

A mystery Secret Santa is keeping busy leaving thoughtful gifts for the residents of sleepy village in the East Midlands.

Residents of Kegworth Village, Leicestershire, have been finding presents dotted around outdoors.

The Secret Santa has been leaving them in easy-to-spot places, like on top of walls or on benches.

Each present is signed off from "Kegworth's Secret Santa".Villagers have been sharing pictures of their gifts on local Facebook page called Kegwroth Village.

Resident, Josh Connor said he has not been well of late, and that times had been "difficult" Leicestershire Live reports.

He said: "I found it on Wednesday last week.

"I haven’t been very well recently and that day was pretty difficult so it was a morale booster and brought joy."

Josh thinks a group of people are behind it, not just one person. But it's impossible to tell who might is behind it.

But with negative stories all over the world hitting the news right now, Josh said a small thing like this was a great reminder that there was good out there.

Lorrae Sunley found her gift on a bench next to a chip shop.

The 25-year-old mum said:" I found it in Derby Road near the chippy on a bench. It was a little set of chocolates.

"I feel that it's a really nice thing for someone to do - it brightened up my day and definitely my son's."

Meanwhile, Ellie Fox, 22,  found a wrapped up chocolate reindeer on top pf a wall whilst she was on her lunch break.

"I went back to work and told all my colleagues about it and everyone agreed it was a lovely thing for someone to do, warmed our hearts."

No one knows if this is just one person acting out of the kindness of their heart, or whether it's a group intent on spreading some Christmas cheer.

One thing is for certain though - the gifts have succeeded in bringing joy to the residents in Kegworth.
