A village has been plunged into darkness after a car crashed into an electricity pylon.
A man is in a serious but non-life threatening condition after his vehicle careered into a pole in Arith in Falkirk, Scotland at 7am this morning.
His vehicle was completely upended, with the front of the car elevated way off the ground and stuck at a 30 degree angle, The Daily Record reported.
A man was left seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Forth Valley Hospital by road ambulance.
Because of the car's impact point the power in Arith has been cut off, plunging the village into darkness on Christmas eve.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called at 7.10am this morning to reports of a car going off the road.
"We attended along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"The A905 has been closed at the services to the golf range."

An SP Energy Networks said that the power should be back on by 4pm.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.17am on Tuesday, December 24 to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car in Airth, Falkirk.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and a heavy rescue vehicle. Firefighters extracted one man from the vehicle and handed him into the care of paramedics.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
