Irish parents are being warned to keep a close eye on their children's online activity after news of a sickening video that has been circulating on TikTok.
The highly vile clip is being reportedly shared on the social media platform which is extremely popular with children.
The alleged disturbing clip is of a young Irish schoolgirl, no older than in her early teens, "dancing naked".
It has apparently been popping up on the app with steps being taken to remove the video and report the account.
Online safety consultants have warned that the video may often be "disguised" as something else making it more likely to be clicked on by younger eyes.
Experts say that the graphic content could be viewed by thousands not only here in Ireland but throughout the world with fears that it may be embedded within other videos designed to appeal to kids.
If you or your child has come across the sickening video, you are advised to report it but do not share the image or clip
Child Protection Awareness Ireland were warned about the video by their UK counterparts.
They said: "Has any of our followers seen a TikTok video of a very young Irish girl, 12/13/14 years of age, dancing naked.
If so please contact the page with the person's username of where the video has come from.
"Do not share the video or images of this child. We were informed today by another hunting team in UK."
Cyber Safety advice on how to deal with this issue:
- Ban phones from the bedroom and the bathroom
- Pull the router out of the wall for the next couple of days
One expert added: "Tell them TikTok is broken for the sake of things in this space because we don't want them exposed to this extremely graphic content.
"Should this image appear in any of your feeds SCROLL past."
