Teacher sent inappropriate Facebook message to pupil and asked ill colleague for 'baldy sex'

A teacher has been banned from the classroom after sending a pupil inappropriate messages on social media.

A Scottish General Teaching Council (SGTC) report protects the identity of the person involved in a catalogue of outrageous behaviour, including making sexualised comments to colleagues.

A report published in the last few days reveals the teacher - who worked in a supervisory role at a North Lanarkshire school - made a Facebook friend request to the student, before sending the messages.

The incidents took place in March 2018, just months after vile comments were made to a number of colleagues at the school, including a text to one undergoing medical treatment, saying: "We should have baldy sex together."

The vile teacher's other messages included explicit sexual references directly to other members of staff, likely to cause them distress.

The SGTC report into the incident explains the teacher admitted the charges and was removed from the professional register.

An application to consider rejoining cannot be considered for at least two years.
