Britain's worst mum signs on after leaving her job as a carer.
Vile Karen Matthews, jailed in 2008 for plotting to profit from the staged kidnap of her daughter Shannon, was snapped as she visited a job centre in the south of England.

The People revealed how the 43-year-old had been employed by an elderly couple from her church who took pity on her.
But she left just weeks later as rumours began circulating she was getting “too close” to the OAP husband, it is claimed.

It comes a year after sugar daddy Eric Anderson, 72, admitted showering Matthews with money and gifts and “teaching her about love”.
And she has previously been accused of dubious money-making schemes.

She allegedly ran a scam selling Pret sandwiches destined for soup kitchens – and was also accused of writing sexually explicit letters to admirers from prison for cash.

Matthews, who has seven children by five men, was dubbed Britain’s worst mum after she got eight years for her role in Shannon’s “kidnap”.

The nine-year-old was found hidden under a bed in Dewsbury, West Yorks, 24 days after she vanished in 2008.

A police probe found evidence she had been drugged.

Karen Matthews was released in April 2012.
