Vikings WR Justin Jefferson is the most pro-ready of the rookie receivers, says NFL.com

The Vikings traded Stefon Diggs this offseason, so draftee wideout Justin Jefferson has a chance to make an immediate impact.

NFL.com’s Adam Rank thinks Jefferson’s position in Minnesota is a good fit. Here’s what he said about the pairing:

“The Vikings used one of their two first-round picks in April on Jefferson, who is going to be counted on to replace one of the better receivers in the game, Stefon Diggs, after Diggs was traded to Buffalo,” Rank said. “I really like Jefferson and feel he landed in the best possible position of all of the rookie receivers, at least in terms of ability to make an immediate impact. I also think Jefferson is the most pro-ready of the rookie receivers, having played for an LSU team loaded with NFL talent under passing-game coordinator Joe Brady (who was hired to be the Panthers’ offensive coordinator this offseason).”

Jefferson’s collegiate career makes him a promising player for the Vikings. He thrived in the slot for the Tigers, and Minnesota offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said that he will play inside quite a bit for the team. Regardless of what happens in 2020, it will be interesting to see the duo of Jefferson and Thielen in the passing game.
