Vikings WR Jordan Taylor has learned a lot from Peyton Manning

Jordan Taylor never caught a pass from Peyton Manning in a regular-season game, but the now-Vikings wide receiver was a practice squad receiver for the Broncos in 2015.

Of course, that was the season the Broncos won the Super Bowl.

Manning was recovering from a foot injury and needed someone to throw to.

“Peyton shot me a text one night,” Taylor said via the Star Tribune. “He said, ‘Hey, meet me at the indoor field at 9 a.m. tomorrow so we can throw.’ And we continued that for about six weeks.”

Taylor might have lucked out a bit considering he was the only wide receiver on the practice squad.

“And what an experience. I learned a lot from him. How to read defenses. How to understand offensive concepts.”

This isn’t the only Broncos tie the Vikings have on the roster. Gary Kubiak comes way from Denver as well and was a big reason why the Vikings signed Taylor, a player who hopes to be the team’s third receiver this fall.
