The Vikings were already without wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Wednesday with an illness. Diggs has missed both practices this week.
More bad news for the wideout group.
Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury in Wednesday’s practice and was listed as limited on the team’s injury report.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer didn’t seem too concerned with Diggs, but keep an eye on Thielen’s status. Thielen finally recovered from a hamstring injury late in the 2019 season and was Minnesota’s leading receiver in Sunday’s playoff win over the Saints, catching seven passes for 129 yards.
Other players listed as out of practice on Wednesday included cornerback Mackensie Alexander (knee) and safety Jayron Kearse (toe/knee). We already know that Alexander will not play after he underwent knee surgery.
Defensive tackle Linval Joseph (knee) was limited after not participating in Tuesday’s practice.
We’ll get the official injury report on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s game against the 49ers.
