Vikings WR Adam Thielen is excited to start working with Justin Jefferson

Adam Thielen appears to now be the Vikings’ clear No. 1 wide receiver after this offseason.

Stefon Diggs, the team’s leading receiver from 2019, was traded to the Bills for draft picks. Diggs and Thielen went back and forth as being the No. 1 option at wide receiver.

Now, Minnesota has added LSU product Justin Jefferson, who can go about replacing some of Diggs’ production. Thielen is here to help.

Thielen told Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune that the young wide receiver room is a great opportunity for him to help out.

“I’m excited honestly to get in the same room with [Jefferson] when this is all over with and get on the field and just try to help out where I can,” Thielen told Hartman. “I really enjoy that part of the game, teaching, coaching and helping guys understand the game a little bit better. I was telling someone the other day that that stuff actually helps me, when I’m talking, when I’m coaching, when I’m teaching, I’m actually really talking to myself. I get better that way and excited again.”

At 29, Thielen is the oldest wide receiver on the team. Here’s to hoping he can act as a veteran presence in 2020.
