Vikings will use both Dan Bailey and Kaare Vedvik vs. Bills

After Kaare Vedvik went 0-for-2 on his field goal attempts on Saturday against the Cardinals, we still don’t know who the Vikings kicker will be in Week 1.

In Thursday’s final preseason game against the Bills before the regular season, the team will use both Vedvik and Dan Bailey as kickers, per special teams coordinator Marwan Maalouf.

Considering the team gave up a fifth-round pick for Vedvik, it seems pretty unlikely they’d release him prior to the season. But there is a scenario where both Vedvik and Bailey make the team, which would likely mean punter Matt Wile would be the odd man out.

The Vikings kicker position has been a nightmare over the years, and it looks like we’re in for another wild ride in 2019.

Kickoff against the Bills is set for 6 p.m. CT from Buffalo. The game will air locally on Fox 9 and KFAN 100.3 FM.
