Vikings will play a bunch of familiar faces in preseason opener

The Vikings face off against the New Orleans Saints on Friday to open the 2019 preseason.

In doing so, they’ll see some familiar faces.

The Saints now employ former Vikings players Teddy Bridgewater, Latavius Murray, Nick Easton, Marcus Sherels and Zach Line.

“I love all those guys. They were great Vikings for us, and they are good players,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Monday. “Hope they are not good Friday night, but either way.”

It is a kind of unique situation with the Saints signing a bunch of former Vikings over the years. But it’s something that the Vikings did not too long ago when they signed former Packers’ Ryan Longwell, Greg Jennings, Darren Sharper and later Brett Favre.
