Vikings will have hands full against Chiefs TE Travis Kelce

The Vikings will be tasked with trying to stop one of the best tight ends in the NFL on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has the size of a tight end, but the grace of a wide receiver.

Kelce is on pace for his fourth-straight 1,000-yard season. In eight games this season, Kelce has 42 catches for 604 yards and two touchdowns.

Even without Patrick Mahomes last week (and we still don’t know his status for Week 9), Kelce caught four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Packers.

Somehow, that still feels like a win for the defense.

It will be interesting to see how the Vikings defend Kelce. They could choose a cornerback and give Kelce the size advantage, or a linebacker, like Anthony Barr, and give Kelce the speed advantage.

Pick your poison.

The Vikings faced Zach Ertz, a similar tight end, in Week 6 and held him to just four catches for 54 yards. Mike Zimmer will hope for more of the same.
