Vikings wide receiver Quartney Davis has chip on his shoulder about not getting drafted

Texas A&M wide receiver Quartney Davis was projected by some to be a late-round draft pick, so what does the Vikings recent signing think of not getting picked?

“It definitely gives me a little drive… Puts more chips on my shoulder,” Davis told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.

Despite not getting drafted, Davis earned a pretty good deal with the Vikings. Minnesota gave Davis $100,000 guaranteed with a $10,000 signing bonus. He ended up picking the team over the Cowboys, despite playing high school and college football in Texas.

Davis also picked a good spot in Minnesota from a positional standpoint. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs left this offseason via trade, so Davis will be able to compete with wide receivers Bisi Johnson and Chad Beebe, and some rookies. He could very well seize the wide receiver three spot with good play leading into the regular season, or he could at least take a fourth-string role.
