Vikings trying to ‘showcase’ WR Laquon Treadwell

We can all admit that drafting receiver Laquon Treadwell wasn’t the best decision the Vikings could have made in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Three years later, the Vikings are hoping to move Treadwell, and they aren’t being shy about it, trying to showcase him in games.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer isn’t hiding that.

“We’re trying to get Treadwell the ball a little bit more in the second half,” Zimmer said after the game via USA TODAY. “Try to showcase him a little bit, I guess. He made some nice plays.”

In Week 2 of preseason against the Seahawks, Treadwell finished with four catches for 47 yards.

We can probably expect more of the same on Saturday against the Cardinals, especially late in the game.

What could the Vikings get for Treadwell? Maybe a late-round draft pick, but it’s tricky considering Treadwell has a $3.1 million cap hit for 2019.

In his three-year career, Treadwell has 56 catches for 517 yards and a touchdown.
