Vikings trade with Chiefs for CB Mark Fields

The Vikings have made their second trade in as many days.

On Saturday, a day after trading guard Danny Isidora to the Dophins for a seventh-round pick, the Vikings have acquired cornerback Mark Fields from the Chiefs for an undisclosed draft pick.

The guess is that this would be a seventh-round pick as well, but we’ll see.

Fields is an undrafted free agent out of Clemson who the Vikings showed interest in after the draft, but instead Fields signed with the Chiefs.

With Holton Hill suspended for the first eight games of the 2019 season and Mike Hughes (ACL) unlikely to be ready for the season opener, the Vikings needed some depth in the defensive backfield.

We’ll update what the Vikings gave up when we hear more.

Update: Per Courtney Cronin, the Vikings are giving up a 2021 seventh-round pick.
