Vikings TE David Morgan had knee surgery, expected to be back by camp

Vikings tight end David Morgan hurt his knee last season, but seemingly fixed that after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason.

Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Morgan is expected to be back by training camp.

Morgan, 26, will be used as he’s been in the past as a primary blocking tight end behind pass catchers Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr.

In three seasons, Morgan has 16 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.

The 2016 sixth-round pick out of Texas-San Antonio is in the last year of his rookie contract, so the healthier he is for the 2019 season, the more money he’ll likely get following that, whether it’s with the Vikings or another team.
