Vikings take Washburn guard Kyle Hinton at No. 253 in the NFL Draft

Minnesota’s  offensive line has improved as of late, but it could always get better.

With the team’s final pick in the NFL Draft, the Vikings selected a possible depth player in Washburn guard Kyle Hinton. He was a four-time All-MIAA selection for offensive line.

Hinton is an enticing choice as a player from a Division I school. If he can compete for a spot on the offensive, I don’t think it will be in the starting five, but he could still add value as a reserve if he’s able to make the team.

Minnesota took LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson at No. 22 in this draft. Then, the team drafted TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney in the first round. The Vikings ended up taking Boise State tackle Ezra Cleveland in the following round.

After that, Minnesota drafted Mississippi State corner Cameron Dantzler, Baylor defensive tackle James Lynch, Oregon linebacker Troy Dye, Temple corner Harrison Hand, Miami wide receiver K.J. Osborn, Oregon State offensive lineman Blake Brandel, Michigan safety Josh Metellus, Michigan State defensive end Kenny Willekes, Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley and Mississippi State safety Brian Cole II. The team also made four trades during the NFL Draft.
