Vikings take TE T.J. Hockenson in NFL.com mock draft

This might just be a dream scenario for Vikings fans.

The Vikings are in need of a tight end and better blocking.

Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson solves both of those problems and that’s why Charles Davis from NFL.com has the Vikings taking Hockenson with their first-round pick at No. 18.

Here’s what Davis wrote about the pick:

Head coach Mike Zimmer has made no bones about it: He wants to run the football more frequently in 2019. The best blocking TE in the draft will help in a big way, and he can catch the ball well, too.

Kyle Rudolph’s best days are behind him and Hockenson would be a nice transition to the future.

Last season with Iowa, Hockenson finished with 49 catches for 760 yards and three touchdowns.

Offensive line is also a huge concern for the Vikings, so this would be a bit of a gamble. But it has plenty of upside if it pays off.
