Vikings take offensive tackle in 1st round of mock draft

Our guy Luke Easterling from Draft Wire put together his first seven-round mock draft of 2019.

It’s something that you need to check out right now.

With the 18th overall pick, Easterling has the Vikings going offensive line, which is a surprise to nobody.

The Vikings select offensive tackle Dalton Risner from Kansas State with the pick.

Here’s what Easterling wrote about the pick:

This team has some dangerous offensive weapons and a capable quarterback, but the protection has to improve across the board. Risner’s experience and polish should make him an instant-impact player at the next level, and his versatility would make him an upgrade at multiple spots.

Risner is considered a mid to late first-round pick by a variety of sites, so this checks out.

It’s no secret that the Vikings will almost certainly pick an offensive lineman with their first-round pick. There were plenty of problems on the 2018 team, but the most glaring was the offensive line.

A player like Risner would certainly help that.
