Vikings take DT Christian Wilkins in latest The Ringer mock draft

The Vikings have needs heading into the 2019 NFL Draft, highlighted by the offensive line and defensive line.

Danny Kelly from The Ringer posted his new mock draft. With the 18th overall pick, Kelly has the Vikings taking defenisve tackle Christian Wilkins out of Clemson.

Here’s what Kelly wrote about Wilkins:

Wilkins is a big man with rare movement skills; he’s a penetrating, athletic, and flexible defensive tackle capable of playing at multiple spots on the interior line or even at defensive end in a pinch, as he did at Clemson at times. The first-team AP All-American has a nonstop motor, active hands, and always-churning feet.

With the departure of Sheldon Richardson and likely departure of Tom Johnson, the Vikings are in need of a player to line up next two Linval Joseph on the defensive line. Wilkins could be that guy. Wilkins ranks as our guy Luke Easterling’s third interior defensive lineman in the draft behind Quinnen Williams and Ed Oliver.

Kelly has Williams going second overall and Oliver going fifth overall, so this feels like pretty good value.
