Vikings take center in 1st round of mock draft

Nearly all mock drafts have the Vikings taking an offensive lineman in the first round.

But this is the first one we’ve seen with the Vikings taking a center.

In Chad Reuter’s latest mock draft at NFL.com, he has the Vikings taking N.C. State center Garrett Bradbury with teh 18th overall pick.

Here’s what he wrote about the pick:

If the Panthers don’t pick Bradbury at No. 16 to replace Ryan Kalil, then Minnesota should pounce on him. Moving Pat Elflein to guard to clear a spot for Bradbury would make sense.

That’s what makes a guy lilke Elflein so valuable, and we knew it two years ago when the Vikings drafted him out of Ohio State.

Bradbury has been trending upward as of late and this would be a move that makes sense if other offensive lineman like guard Jonah Williams don’t slide in the draft.

We are going to hear a lot of names over the next month and a half. Bradbury is the newest.
