Vikings take another step up in power rankings

The Vikings moved to 4-2 in Week 6 after beating the Eagles 38-20 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

That win moved the Vikings to second in the NFC North and from No. 9 to No. 7 in USA TODAY’s weekly power rankings.

Here’s what our friend Nate Davis wrote about the Vikings:

They’ve won three of four, and Kirk Cousins has seven TD passes, one INT and a 121.0 QB rating in that time. What was everyone spun up about?

Cousins has been absolutely fantastic over the last two weeks, as has the Vikings defense. It feels like the Vikings have figured themselves out a bit, but they’ll need to continue to prove that in a nasty NFC North.

Next up for the Vikings will be a 2-2-1 Lions team that just lost a heartbreaker to the Packers on Monday Night Football.

The Lions rank 10th in the rankings. To round out the NFC North, the Packers rank third and the Bears rank 14th.
