The 2020 NFL schedule was released on Thursday night.
You can check out the Vikings’ full schedule here.
One thing I noticed right away with the schedule was how difficult the first five weeks appear to be.
Let’s break it down.
Week 1 vs. Packers
The Vikings are at home for this one, but it seems likely there won’t be any fans at U.S. Bank Stadium. Minnesota has played well against Green Bay at home through the years, but Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers even if the Packers messed up and didn’t get him any real help this offseason.
Week 2 at Colts
The Colts didn’t make the playoffs last season, but should be a better team after adding quarterback Philip Rivers. The Vikings should steal be the favorites in this game, but it’s no cakewalk.
Week 3 vs Titans
Will the Titans regress a season after advancing to the AFC Championship last season? We’ll see. Even if you’re not a Ryan Tannehill believer, Derrick Henry is a beast and this defense is top-knotch.
Week 4 at Texans
Three AFC South opponents in a row. Good thing for the Vikings’ young cornerbacks is that DeAndre Hopkins is out of Houston, but Deshaun Watson is still one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
Week 5 at Seahawks
Oh fun, another primetime game against the Seahawks. The Vikings’ recent history against Seattle hasn’t been great.
These are obviously games that playoff teams need to win. Every game is winnable, surely, but there aren’t any gimmes, either.
