Vikings sign G Dakota Dozier

The Vikings are adding more bodies to the offensive line.

On Thursday, the team signed guard Dakota Dozier.

Dozier has played the last five seasons with the Jets after being drafted in the fourth-round in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Furman.

In his time with the Jets, Dozier has appeared in 37 games, starting seven. Last season, he appeared in six games, starting two.

Dozier finished with a Pro Football Focus grade of 54.5 last season, the worst mark of his career.

This is a depth-signing, considering his near-minimum contract.

The Vikings have also signed guard Josh Kline to a deal this offseason. Kline is expected to start.

Minnesota also brought back backup center Brett Jones.

The offensive line is in a much-better place than it was to start the offseason, but there’s still work to be done. Fans definitely wouldn’t be upset if the team decided to use its first-round pick on an offensive lineman.
