Vikings sign former AAF LB Greer Martini

The Vikings are turning into a friendly home for former AAF players.

On Wednesday per multiple reports, the Vikings signed linebacker Greer Martini. Martini last played for the Salt Lake Stallions in the AAF and piled up 55 tackles.

The Vikings are signing LB Greer Martini, a source said. Martini was with the Packers last year in training camp and was on their practice squad for part of the year. He most recently played in the AAF.

Prior to that, Martini spent part of last season on the practice squad with the Packers. He played in four preseason games with Green Bay and piled up 13 tackles.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman has now added five former AAF players, all on the defensive side of the ball.

It’s a creative way to add players to a team that doesn’t have much money to spend.
