Vikings sign center Brett Jones

The Vikings made a move that slightly improves their offensive line.

They’ll bring back center Brett Jones, who they traded a seventh-round pick for last season.

Jones, 27, started three games last season (while Pat Elflein was injured). Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This isn’t a huge signing, but it’s a necessary depth signing, which is where this team ran into last season.

Per Pro Football Focus, Jones finished with a player grade of 53.1.

Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports the deal is for one year and has a base salary of $850,000.
