Vikings sign C Brett Jones, release TE Brandon Dillon

As expected, the Vikings are bringing back center Brett Jones after releasing him to make way for wide receiver Josh Doctson.

With the move, the Vikings released tight end Brandon Dillon. Dillon, if he clears waivers, is expected to join the team’s practice squad. The Vikings already made a move to clear a spot for him, releasing kicker Chase McLaughlin.

Jones was acquired prior to last season for a seventh-round pick via the New York Giants. He started three games and appeared in 14.

He’ll be rookie Garrett Bradbury’s backup at center.
