Vikings should try to trade for G Kevin Zeitler if he’s available

There are rumblings that the Browns could be interested in moving guard Kevin Zeitler this offseason to clear cap sapce.

Well, well, well.

Zeitler graded as the league’s sixth-best guard per Pro Football Focus last season. The Vikings are in desperate need of offensive line help. So if they are going to try to cut him, it makes sense for the Vikings to step in with a late draft pick to try to acquire him before that, right?

Yes, it does. But the Vikings will need to clear up some cap space if they want to do that. They have a little more than $5 million in cap space and Zeitler is due $10 million next season.

Obvious candidates for cap casualties include Kyle Rudolph, Andrew Sendejo and Mike Remmers.
