Vikings select tackle Jawaan Taylor in new mock draft

Everyone can agree. The Vikings need offensive line help, despite bringing back Brett Jones and signing Josh Kline.

Many hope they address it with their 18th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Our guy Luke Easterling put together a new mock draft and has the Vikings taking Florida offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor with their first-round pick.

Here’s what Easterling wrote about the pick:

Unless one of this year’s elite defensive prospects falls all the way to this pick, the Vikings need to be targeting the best available offensive lineman here. In this scenario, that comes in the form of Taylor, an athletic and physical blocker with successful experience at both left and right tackle. Don’t be surprised if the Vikings still use another early pick to also address the interior of their offensive line, as well.

Taylor is Easterling’s second-ranked tackle in this year’s class, so it feels like this would be a good pick for the Vikings. He would likely be a day one starter opposite of second-year player Brian O’Neill. This would likely move Riley Reiff to guard opposite Kline with Pat Elflein starting at center.
