It’s mock draft week!
Well, it’s also regular draft week.
Cris Collinsworth of Pro Football Focus put together his mock draft on Monday and has the Vikings selecting Oklahoma tackle Cody Ford with their 18th overall pick.
Here’s what Collinsworth wrote about Ford:
Ford is a big man that isn’t the most physical run blocker, but very nifty feet for somebody his size allows him to stay in front pass protecting. Long arms are also an asset in pass protection. Too many good tackles for the Vikings to not address a glaring need on the offensive line.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Ford linked to the Vikings.
Ford is our guy Luke Easterling’s fifth-ranked tackle in the draft, so by those metrics, this pick might be a bit of a stretch. Easterling has Ford as his 31st overall prospect.
Many would be disappointed if the Vikings don’t address the offensive line in the first round, including former Vikings quarterback Tommy Kramer.
