Vikings select Iowa DE A.J. Epenesa in way-too-early 2020 mock draft

It’s never too early for a 2020 mock draft!

Actually, maybe it is considering we are two days removed from the 2019 NFL Draft. Regardless, our guy Luke Easterling over at Draft Wire put together a way-too-early first-round mock. The draft order is determined by 2019 Super Bowl odds.

The Vikings pick No. 20 and Easterling has them selecting Iowa defensive A.J. Epenesa.

As far as position fit goes, it’s a good one with Everson Griffen at 31 years old.

Who is Epenesa, you ask?

He busted onto the scene in 2018, his sophomore season, piling up 10.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss.

As I’ve said throughout the whole mock draft process, instead of singling in on who the player is being projected to your team, it’s more valuable to look at the position. The Vikings will likely be addressing the defensive line early in next year’s draft, something we were a little surprised they didn’t do in 2019.
