Vikings rookie WR Bisi Johnson looks like a roster lock

Among the most impressive players for the Vikings this preseason, wide receiver Bisi Johnson is near the top.

In the team’s game against the Cardinals on Saturday, Johnson had three catches for 52 yards, and caught what-should-have-been a two-point conversion.

It’d be a huge surprise if Johnson, a 2019 seventh-round pick out of Colorado State, didn’t make the team.

“He knows all the spots number one, but every time he goes in, he makes plays whether it’s practice or games,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Monday. “He catches the ball well, runs good routes, seems to have a good feel with leverage on the DBs.”

Could Johnson end up as the team’s third wide receiver behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs? That’s a good question. Johnson has primarily gotten late-game action in preseason, but Chad Beebe has been underwhelming in game action.

It will be interesting to see how things shake up after the team’s final preseason game on Thursday against the Bills.
