Minnesota sits second in the NFC North and if the season ended today, the Vikings would be the second wild card team.
In USA TODAY’s Week 9 power rankings, the Vikings rank fifth, the same spot they were in last week.
The Vikings will have a test this Sunday as they travel to play the 5-3 Chiefs in Kansas City. The Chiefs rank ninth in the rankings. The biggest question with that game, of course, is whether or not Patrick Mahomes will play two weeks after dislocating his knee.
To round out the NFC North, the Packers rank fourth, the Lions rank 12th and the Bears rank 22nd.
