Vikings RB Roc Thomas suspended 3 games

We all kind of saw this coming.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Vikings running back Roc Thomas had been suspended three games for violating the league policy on substance abuse.

Thomas was arrested and charged with felony marijuana use earlier this offseason.

Thomas, 23, played five games for the Vikings last season and ran for 30 yards on eight carries. It will be interesting to see how this impacts Thomas’ roster status. Among running backs, the Vikings have Dalvin Cook, Ameer Abdullah, Alexander Mattison, Mike Boone and C.J. Ham under contract for next season.

Thomas is eligible to play and practice during the preseason, but won’t be able to join the team again until Sept. 24, a day after the Vikings host the Raiders in Week 3.
