Vikings RB Roc Thomas charged with felony drug possession

The Vikings were in the news for the wrong reasons on Wednesday. Running back Roc Thomas has been charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Police said they found over 143 grams of marijuana, or more than three times the minimum for a felony possession charge, at his apartment in Mendota Heights.

Thomas, 23, played five games for the Vikings as an undrafted rookie last season. He had eight carries for 30 yards while catching two passes for 21 yards.

He’s due $570,000 in 2019 and $660,000 in 2020, but the Vikings can cut him with no penalty.

With Thomas’ lack of experience, this is likely a deal-breaker for his chances to stay with the team.
