Vikings RB Dalvin Cook talks about what happened to Minnesota in 2020

Minnesota was coming off a 2019 in which it went 10-6 and won a playoff game. Many assumed that the Vikings would at least go back to postseason, but the team regressed to the point where it did not.

Minnesota ended up 7-9. There were plenty of positive takeaways, but overall, the Vikings couldn’t overcome their glaring weaknesses.

Dalvin Cook, who had a career 2020, recently explained what went wrong for the team on The Herd w/Colin Cowherd:

“We didn’t adjust to the new life of what today’s society is,” Cook said on The Herd. “We came out flat some games. We didn’t get ready. If you look at the Vikings, some games, we just didn’t come out ready to play. And I think that’s just due to us not having the fans. … We just didn’t get our groove. We just didn’t get that continuity that we needed.”

The Vikings will still have to rely on young and inexperienced talent next season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. That said, the team will presumably have a more experienced defense. Maybe that will lead to more consistency.
