Vikings rank in top 10 of PFF’s power rankings

The Vikings had a disappointing 2018 season, finishing 8-7-1 and missing out on the playoffs.

Heading into 2019, the Vikings are back and there is some optimism they’ll get back to the playoffs after improving their offensive line.

In Pro Football Focus’ latest power rankings, the Vikings rank ninth.

Here’s what PFF writers Kevin Cole and Timo Riske wrote about the Vikings:

The Vikings had the third highest-graded defense in the last two seasons, and we expect Mike Zimmer to keep them on a high level in 2019. First-round draft choice Garrett Bradbury is an immediate upgrade, as he fits perfectly in Kubiak’s rushing scheme. The elephant in the room is whether the passing offense, which ranked 30th in percentage of routes run beyond the first down marker in 2018, can take a step forward.

To round out the NFC North, the Bears rank seventh, the Packers 16th and the Lions rank 26th.

The Vikings open the 2019 season on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons at U.S. Bank Stadium.
