Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford will miss his third game due to his troublesome left knee, head coach Mike Zimmer said Thursday.
Bradford did not practice Thursday and has not joined his teammates on the Winter Park fields since Sept. 21, a day before he flew to Florida for a second opinion on his injured left knee.
"He's feeling better," Zimmer said. "He's just not ready to practice."
Quarterback Case Keenum will make his third start for Bradford on Sunday, when the Lions come to U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Vikings were missing another key player at the start of Thursday's practice in right tackle Mike Remmers. Remmers is sick, so he was held out for the day. Swing tackle Rashod Hill lined up in Remmers' spot next to Joe Berger during position drills.
Defensive end Stephen Weatherly (illness) returned to practice after being held out Wednesday.
