Vikings QB Kirk Cousins named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

After throwing for 307 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings’ Week 12 28-27 win over the Panthers, quarterback Kirk Cousins has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

It’s the fifth time Cousins has won the award, but his first as a member of the Vikings.

It’s the third time a Viking has won the award this season. The other two, of course, went to running back Dalvin Cook.

On the season, Cousins has thrown for 2,768 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 touchdowns.

That puts him on pace for 4,026 yards, 33 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The yards would be an improvement from last season, while the 33 touchdowns would be a career-high. Unfortunately, so would those 16 interceptions.

A lot of Cousins’ stats have come in “garbage time.” However, the team needed all of Cousins’ stats in the Week 12 win and will need him down the stretch as the 5-6 Vikings make a push for the postseason.
