Vikings QB Kirk Cousins makes big leap in ‘Top 100’ list

While the Vikings didn’t make the playoffs in Kirk Cousins’ first season with the team, you can’t argue with Cousins’ numbers.

The 30-year-old quarterback threw for 4,298 yards and a career-high 30 touchdowns behind a suspect offensive line.

That play earned him spot No. 78 in the NFL Network’s list of top 100 players entering the 2019 season. It’s worth noting, this is voted by the players.

It’s an increase of 16 spots for Cousins, who has thrown for 4,000 or more yards in four-straight seasons.

Vikings safety Harrison Smith also appears on the list.

Per Pro Football Focus, Cousins ranked as the league’s 15th-best quarterback with a grade of 79.3, an increase of 9.3 points from the previous season.

Personally, I think this says a lot about Cousins considering his peers ranked him this high.

With another offseason under his belt with the team, and an improved offensive line, Cousins should be even better in 2019.
