Vikings playoff chances drop to 66% after loss to Chiefs

After losing to the Chiefs 26-23 on Sunday, the Vikings fell to 6-3 on the season.

If the season ended today, the Vikings would be the sixth seed in the playoff and travel to play the Packers in the wild card round of the playoffs.

Going into the game, the Vikings had a 75 percent chance to make the playoffs via FiveThirtyEight.

After the loss, that number dipped down to 66 percent. The site gives the Vikings a 29 percent chance to win the NFC North, 11 percent chance to get a first-round bye and a four percent chance to win the Super Bowl.

The next seven games for the Vikings aren’t exactly easy. They travel to play the Cowboys, Seahawks and Chargers while hosting the Broncos, Lions, Packers and Bears.

To round out the NFC North, the Packers have an 86 percent chance to make the playoffs, the Lions have a six percent chance and the Bears have just a four percent chance.
