Vikings OT Rashod Hill expected to start if Riley Reiff is unavailable

Riley Reiff has been the Vikings’ mainstay left tackle since 2017. But the team may be without him for Week 17.

Reiff was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list this week. The left tackle may not have the virus; he may have just been exposed to it. He also isn’t officially ruled out for Sunday just yet.

But if he ends up not being available for the Vikings, offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said Rashod Hill will fill in that spot. Hill has played sparingly on offense as a reserve this season. He also has at least one snap on special teams in every game so far.

Hill played the most this season when right tackle Brian O’Neill went down with an eye injury against the Buccaneers. He had 25 offensive snaps in the loss to Tampa Bay.

Hill has a PFF grade of 71.9 this season, though some of that could probably be attributed to a small sample size of reps compared to other Minnesota offensive lineman.
