Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski learned a lot from his 3 games in ’18

Kevin Stefanski was only the interim offensive coordinator for three games in 2018, but he’s learned a lot from that.

“Three games there were simply just the procedure of pressing the button and calling the play, those little things help,” Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski said Monday. “One of the things I did learn in those three games is how collaborative play-calling is. It’s something that I think I knew before, but you lean on your coaches. That’s where I’m so lucky, I have some really good ones on our staff that can help us through those games.”

Stefanski will particularly lean on someone like Gary Kubiak, who the team has brought in as an offensive advisor to help guide Stefanski and the Vikings offense.

Stefanski seemed to be a bit more conservative with his play calls compared to John DeFillipo, which was actually a good thing considering how bad Minnesota’s offensive line was.

We’ll see how things change with Kubiak helping Stefanski out.
