Vikings LG Dakota Dozier listed as a starter Minnesota should replace

Minnesota’s offensive line has improved once again, but the team has a familiar weak spot at left guard.

In the past, Pat Elflein has filled the left guard role and been inconsistent in that spot, though not as bad as some Vikings fans would tell you.

This season, the Vikings moved Elflein over to right guard, placing Dakota Dozier at left guard. Neither of those moves really worked out: Elflein is on the Jets now and Dozier has struggled as a full-time starter.

Bleacher Report thinks it’s time for a change. The outlet listed Dozier as a starter the Vikings should replace. Here’s what the outlet said:

“Dozier struggles in pass protection. While the Vikings are a run-first team, Dozier consistently allows too much pressure, which can be debilitating when the unit ranks among the league’s bottom four with only 400 passing attempts.”

I wrote about why Brett Jones should replace Dozier at left guard here.

I’ll try to be positive and put things in perspective, though: If you told Vikings fans that every part of the offensive line was solid at times, besides left guard, this season, I’m sure they would have taken that heading into the year. This Vikings team has issues that have been revealed throughout 2020, but the offensive line isn’t that far off from being good.
