There are a lot of talented players on the defensive side of the ball for the Minnesota Vikings.
Often times, linebacker Eric Kendricks gets overlooked. But in 2019, it’s nearly impossibly not to recognize how good Kendricks has been.
In his fifth season, Kendricks ranks as Pro Football Focus‘ third-ranked linebacker with a grade of 90.8. He ranks first among all linebackers against the run and sixth in pass coverage.
Kendricks hasn’t made a Pro Bowl yet, but if he keeps this up, he’ll almost certainly get his first nod this season. He also could be looking at some All-Pro honors.
Kendricks is in the first year of a five-year, $50 million deal. He’ll make $4.4 million in 2019, and $7.5 million in 2020, a price that certainly feels like a bargain for a player of his caliber.
