Vikings keep streak alive, beat Lions in Detroit

Let the good times continue to roll for the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings won their third-straight game, taking down the Lions in Detroit 42-30 on Sunday.

Minnesota was led by quarterback Kirk Cousins and running back Dalvin Cook.

Cousins threw for his third-straight 300-yard game, throwing for 337 yards and four touchdowns. Cook, meanwhile, ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns. It was his NFL-leading fifth 100-yard game of the season.

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen caught a 25-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but hurt his hamstring on the play. He did not return. Stefon Diggs helped pick up the slack, catching seven passes for 142 yards. Rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr. added five catches for 60 yards.

It’s a huge NFC North win for the Vikings, especially after falling to both the Packers and Bears on the road this season.

The win improves Minnesota to 5-2 overall, second in the NFC North.

The Vikings host the Redskins on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.
