With the Vikings trading a fifth-round pick for Vedvik, it seems nearly impossible that he won’t earn a roster spot.
On Friday, Bailey didn’t do himself any favors, going just 3-for-6 on field goals with Chad Beebe holding.
Of course, this is only one day and it’s probably best not to overreact. But it’s no surprise to see two of Bailey’s misses were from 40 or more yards considering he was just 5-for-11 on field goals 40 yards or longer last season.
It will be very interesting to see how the Vikings handle the kicking and punting in Sunday night’s preseason game against the Seahawks. Bailey will need to kick better than he did on Friday in real action if he has a chance of earning a roster spot, whether it’s with the Vikings or another team.
