Here we are, just days away from the start of the 2020 NFL season.
Dan Hanzus posted his Week 1 power rankings over at NFL.com and the Vikings rank 10th, a spot up from where they were in training camp.
Here’s what Hanzus wrote about the Vikings:
Kudos to general manager Rick Spielman, who waited out the market and then pounced on Yannick Ngakoue, landing a young, proven pass rusher via a trade in which the Vikings didn’t have to a) surrender a premium draft pick (a second- and conditional fifth-rounder went to Jacksonville) or b) pay Ngakoue at the salary he was slated to make under the franchise tag.
The Vikings will have the test of going up against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, a team that finished 13-3 last season. While the game will be at U.S. Bank Stadium, there won’t be any fans at the game.
To round out the NFC North, the Packers rank eighth, the Bears rank 24th and the Lions rank 30th.
