Vikings host No. 1 pick Kyler Murray on Saturday

Sometimes there’s a struggle when watching preseason games.

What matters? What doesn’t?

One thing that should be intriuging for Vikings fans in Saturday’s home game against the Cardinals is that they’ll be going up against rookie quarterback Kyler Murray.

To update you real quick: Murray was the quarterback that the Cardinals took first overall, even though they used a first-round pick on Josh Rosen, and now Rosen is in Miami fighting for a starting job with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Murray and Kliff Kingbury are best friends forever.

In two preseason games, Murray is 9-for-15, throwing for 56 yards. That’s just 3.7 yards per attempt. He has yet to throw a touchdown. Murray has ran once for four yards.

If you’re a Cardinals fan, should you be worried? It’s probably too early for that. The third game of preseason is generally the one that resembles a regular-season game the most, so chances are we’ll get to see Murray in the game long enough to feel comfortable, or for the Vikings defense to make him feel uncomfortable.

Kickoff is set for noon CT at U.S. Bank Stadium.
