Vikings have 2 players on list of worst first-round picks since 2010

Our guy Barry Werner over at Touchdown Wire put together 45 of the worst first-round picks since the 2010 season.

Sadly, the Vikings had two players on that list.

First was quarterback Christian Ponder, who was drafted 12th overall in 2011. He ended up being a very limited quarterback and really held the offense back. He played four years for the Vikings, amassing a 14-21-1 record while throwing for 6,658 yards, 38 touchdowns and 36 interceptions.

Many people questioned this pick immediately after it was made, and as it turns out, for good reason.

The second player is still on the team. Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was the 23rd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Treadwell was considered a consensus first-round pick, but he hasn’t lived up to that bill at all. Treadwell has had three forgettable seasons in Minnesota, catching 56 passes for 517 yards and a touchdown.

The 2019 season will likely be Treadwell’s last in Minnesota.

Go check out the full list of first-round busts. It’s kind of a fun — and sad — read.
